This workshop will describe the science and data for the first Mining Science Data for Medicine Challenge. The challenge has two parts. First, to use machine learning (ML) to identify a set of DNA CpG methylations that are specific to senescent cells. Second, to make recommendations on how ML results can be explained to patients, doctors and the public. Results from participants will be made available in early 2020 following a “Results Workshop” in September 2019.
The kick-off and results workshops are open to all. Please register using the registration link.
Their will be key-note talks on the two challenges,
Identification of DNA methylation–based markers of cellular senescence
Ken Raj, Public Health England
Clinical Applications of machine learning algorithms: beyond the black box
David Watson, Oxford Internet Institute and The Alan Turing Institute
The data will be released to participating teams after the kick-off workshop via a separate registration process. The challenge end data is 26
th August 2019.
